Our kitty Reena (Ree-nah) was missing. She has been gone since last Sunday night/ Monday morning. She's an outside kind of cat. Adrian had gotten her from Craigslist for Maggie when she was about 2-3 months old. Her & Maggie are about the same age (10 months). And ever since he brought her home, she has been apart of the family, so when she didn't come home Sunday night we knew something was wrong. Although Reena is an outdoor cat, she always comes back home. And every time we come back from somewhere & she's outside, she comes running to the car & walks us inside. We went looking for her on Monday but couldn't find her, and as the days went on we began to think someone took her (considering she always comes home). We posted a "Lost Ad" on Craigslist. And until yesterday we didn't hear anything. A nice lady called, saying she saw a description matching ours on the site Petfinder. We emailed the person who posted the found ad and just waited until about 8 o'clock the person who found Reena gave us a call. It turns out Reena had gotten hit by a car! And the lady who found her is a veterinarian and brought her to the hospital she works at. The vet brought her in on Monday and they did some surgery on her leg and elbow. The vet said Reena is "barely alive" and chuckled, so this of course had gotten us mad. Because to us Reena is apart of our family. But we went in when they opened to see Reena. Reena also needs more surgery but it'll be on her pelvic. They are going to wait to do the procedure until her wounds heal a bit better. This procedure will cost about $4000! So we are trying to do everything we can to raise money for her. This is all so devastating, Adrian hasn't been the same since she went missing and now that we saw her and saw how much pain she was in, just completely broke his heart. Maggie and I are also sad about all this. As soon as Maggie saw Reena she wanted to pet her, but couldn't because of the IV.
